Rush was a Canadian progressive rock band, formed in 1968 in Toronto, Canada. It initially consisted of Alex Lifeson (guitar), Geddy Lee (bass, vocals, keyboards), and John Rutsey (drums), who was quickly replaced by Neil Peart in 1974. The band is known for its musical expertise, the complex composition of its tracks, and the philosophical themes of its lyrics. During their career, Rush released successful albums such as "2112", "Moving Pictures", and "Signals", establishing them as one of the most significant bands in rock history. Rush disbanded in 2018.
