2112 by Rush
About the album 2112
In 1976, the Canadian band Rush were already in a dire financial situation, with their record label ready to throw them out.
They dared to release 2112, a progressive rock album of incredible "listening difficulty" for unprepared ears, and sold 3,000,000 copies in the USA (!)
The ideas for the songs of 2112 were born during their tour to promote their previous album in the second half of 1975. Rush returned from the tour and in January 1976 entered the studio with producer Terry Brown and created the album that saved their career - most likely.
