About the album Shades Of Deep Purple
After two months of rehearsals, Deep Purple recorded their debut in three days in May 1968. Rod Evans was on vocals.
In England, their homeland, it did not achieve any success. This, paradoxically, came in the U.S. with the cover of the song Hush by Billy Joe Royal, whose single reached No. 4 on the Billboard.
The Shades Of Deep Purple contains four of their own compositions and four covers. Deep Purple have some steps to go through before becoming what we all know.
