About the album Remain In Light
The Talking Heads, along with their producer Brian Eno, spent July and August 1980 in the Bahamas at Compass Point Studios preparing their fourth studio album, titled Remain In Light, which was released in the market in October of the same year. Here, things become more complex than they were on the two previous albums that Brian Eno had a hand in.
Dominating - naturally - is the New Wave, which mingles with Psychedelic funk, Art Rock, Afrobeat, Post-punk, and Dance-rock. Remain In Light is considered the pinnacle of the creativity of Talking Heads. It is so complex that one will either bow to its greatness or it will tire them so much that after the first listening they will struggle to engage with it again. What happens with this particular album is exactly what the title of its first single, Once In A Lifetime, says, as once in their lifetime a band releases such an album.
The No87 on the Billboard and the 500,000 copies sold in the U.S. were particularly flattering for an album that includes songs like Houses In Motion or Seen And Not Seen.
