Reveal by R.E.M.
About the album Reveal
The twelfth album of R.E.M. titled Reveal was recorded in studios in various cities: Athens (USA), Dublin, Miami, and Vancouver. The reason for this was that Michael Stipe believed it would help him avoid "writer's block." Producer Patrick McCarthy was with them for the second time in the production of the album.
Reveal was the band's second album recorded as a trio. However, during its creation, several musicians who toured with the band also contributed their ideas to the composition of the songs. The album began to take shape in February 2000, then the group found themselves in a studio in Hollywood, and subsequently, the main bulk of songs was created in Vancouver. The album was finally released in May 2001. The sound of Reveal follows the previous album Up, with a rock sound enriched with elements of electronic music. The singles from the album were three: Imitation Of Life, All The Way To Reno (You're Gonna Be A Star), and I'll Take The Rain.
The album reached No. 6 on the Billboard, while in the United Kingdom it reached the top. The total sales of Reveal worldwide are estimated to be around 2,300,000.
