About the album What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down?

In 2020, Public Enemy reached their fifteenth studio album titled What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down?. Public Enemy have targeted throughout the album all those they consider to misinform the public, with their main target being Donald Trump. The album was released by Def Records.

What characterizes the album are the many collaborations found throughout the record with big names in hip hop and the wider black music. From Easy Mo Be in the production of Rest In Beats, to the performances of Mike D and Ad-Rock (Beastie Boys) and RUN D.M.C. in Public Enemy Number Won. Even George Clinton is here in the opening When The Grid Goes Down…, and also in GRID along with Cypress Hill, Ice-T in Smash The Crowd along with PMD, while Nas, Rapsody, Black Thought, and many others help in the re-execution of Fight The Power, which is titled as Fight The Power: Remix 2020.

What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down? reached No. 26 on the Billboard.
