About the album Fear Of A Black Planet
The hip hop group Public Enemy collaborates once again with the production team Bomb Squad and presents one of the most significant albums in hip hop music, the album Fear Of A Black Planet. The album was recorded between June 1989 and February 1990. The third studio album by the New Yorkers was released on April 10, 1990, and immediately attracted the attention of the public and critics.
Fear Of A Black Planet was a different album in terms of its structure. The samples used were far more than what was customary, the loops reached another level, and it was an album filled with audio clips from television and radio broadcasts. The album has a singular purpose from beginning to end, which is the iconic Fight The Power: to empower the black community in the United States to resist racism and injustice. Among the names contributing to the creation of the album is Ice Cube, who is one of the creators and performers of Burn Hollywood Burn.
Fear Of A Black Planet reached No.10 on the Billboard, and that was a huge success for such an exceptional album. Its sales in the U.S. exceeded 1,300,000. In the United Kingdom, it reached No.4, while in Canada, it managed to reach No.15. Public Enemy continued to build their empire, which would be completed with the release of their next album.
