Brotherhood by New Order
About the album Brotherhood
In late September 1986, the fourth studio album of New Order was released by Factory. Here, New Order takes another step towards synth-pop, leaving behind the post-punk that characterized their early works.
According to statements by the band's drummer, Stephen Morris, New Order were trying in a schizophrenic way to fill the first side of the album with compositions where guitars would dominate, while in the compositions of the second side synthesizers should dominate (!) In the end, this was not so evident to those who bought or listened to the album. The two singles from the album were State Of The Nation - which was not released in the original version of the album, but only as a single - and Bizarre Love Triangle.
Brotherhood reached No. 9 in the United Kingdom, but in the U.S. it only reached No. 117 on the Billboard.
