About the album Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!

Two months after being expelled from Metallica, Dave Mustaine meets bassist David Ellefson, and together they form Megadeth. Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good! from 1985 would become their first album, officially adding another thrash metal band to the California thrash metal scene, which over the next few years would develop into one of the most notable and achieve worldwide success.

All the songs are written by Dave Mustaine except for These Boots, which is a cover of Nancy Sinatra's These Boots Are Made For Walking (!). Mustaine takes on the performance of the songs since none of the singers he listened to during various trials fit him. Thus, he would become the main singer of the group.

The album entered the US Top-200, reaching No.169, which seemed like a good start for a band whose music and song lyrics were not the most conventional at the time. We should also consider the extremely provocative album cover, which was not intended to be the cover, but because the design team lost the one that was finally decided, they used this one as it was readily available (!).
