About the album … And Justice For All

The ...And Justice For All of 1988 was a landmark album in Metallica's career. It was their first double album, the song themes were filled with social and political issues, and in order to promote it, they created their first video clip for the single One. The biggest change, however, was that bassist Cliff Burton was no longer with them after his tragic death. Jason Newsted had taken his place.

Metallica entered the studio on January 28, 1988, and by May 1st they had their new album ready. From a technical point of view, … And Justice For All and the compositions that make it up are an extremely difficult work as nothing is simple. There are long songs, where the guitar riffs change constantly, there are songs where the musical theme changes five and six times. The production of the album is credited to producer Flemming Rasmussen and James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich.

The album has certainly surpassed 11,000,000 sales worldwide.
