About the album Kings Of Metal
The sixth studio work of Manowar comes as the natural continuation of their previous album. The Kings Of Metal of 1988 will become a great success in Germany, as it will sell 250,000 copies there.
This album is the last in which guitarist Ross the Boss, one of the founding members of the band, records with Manowar for the 1980s. He will return again in 1996.
The compositions of the album are mostly the creation of Joey DeMaio. One of the most interesting moments of the album is the instrumental Sting Of The Bumblebee, which is an adaptation of the composition by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, a Russian composer who lived in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The cover was a work by Ken Kelly, with whom Manowar had collaborated again.
