About the album Use Your Illusion II
Use Your Illusion II becomes on September 17, 1991, the fourth official album of Guns 'n' Roses as it is released simultaneously with Use Your Illusion I. The second part was slightly more commercially successful than the first part, but the musical style that characterizes it is exactly the same as its twin sibling; Hard Rock. This double album was the last album of Guns 'n' Roses in which guitarist Izzy Stradlin participated.
The name of the album comes from the title of the painting by Mark Kostabi "Use Your Illusion", which was created and inspired by a detail from Raphael's painting "The School of Athens".
The album reached No.1 in the USA and the UK, while it had similar success in many other countries. It is estimated that both double albums Use Your Illusion I & II have surpassed 30,000,000 sales worldwide.
