The Spaghetti Incident? by Guns ‘n’ Roses
About the album The Spaghetti Incident?
The Spaghetti Incident? is the fifth album by Guns N' Roses, which was released on November 23, 1993. It consists exclusively of covers of punk and hard rock songs that influenced the band in its early steps. The title arose from a legal dispute with former drummer Steven Adler. During his deposition, Adler's lawyer asked Duff McKagan about "the spaghetti incident," referring to a period in 1989 in Chicago. Adler used the word "spaghetti" as a code name for his drugs, which he hid in the refrigerator next to real food. The band found the lawyer's phrase so funny that they chose it as the album's title (!)
It was the last album in which Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum participated together before the dissolution of the classic lineup. It is the only work of the group with guitarist Gilby Clarke, who replaced Izzy Stradlin. Many of the tracks were recorded during the sessions for Use Your Illusion I & II. The album includes a hidden track (ghost track) at the end, Look At Your Game, Girl, which was written by serial killer Charles Manson. This move caused massive reactions from victim organizations.
The Spaghetti Incident? reached No. 4 on the Billboard and in the U.S., 1,000,000 copies of the album were sold. Its sales in the United Kingdom exceeded 100,000 copies.
