Genesis by Genesis
About the album Genesis
In 1983, Genesis recorded and released the twelfth album of their career. Times have changed and the sound of progressive rock has receded significantly in this particular work of Genesis, although it has not completely disappeared (Second Home By The Sea). Undoubtedly, however, the pop aesthetic—without it necessarily being a bad thing—pervades the entirety of the album, which simply bears the name of the band.
The cover of the album is a photo taken by photographer Bill Smith when he saw the shape toys that his son had left on the floor before going to bed.
The single of the song Mama will surely be the reason that brings the album to No. 1 in the UK, as well as No. 9 in the USA. Genesis has sold nearly 6,000,000 copies worldwide.
