I Robot by The Alan Parsons Project
About the album I Robot
The original intention of the Alan Parsons Project was for the album's theme to be based on Isaac Asimov's book “I, Robot,” something that the author agreed with. However, due to rights issues, things changed, which is why the comma was removed from the title.
The album cover was another work of the record cover design team Hipgnosis.
The release of the album coincided by chance with the release of the first “Star Wars” movie, something that helped it a lot. In the United Kingdom, it sold 60,000 copies, while in the U.S., total sales have reached 1,000,000.
