Wild Frontier by Gary Moore
About the album Wild Frontier
In 1987, Gary Moore would present his sixth solo album titled Wild Frontier. The sound of the album seems to have been adapted to the “hard rock” demands of that era. Many would describe the album as pop metal – an exaggeration (!)
The album is dedicated to the memory of his collaborator and friend Phil Lynott, who had passed away the previous year. Many songs contain lyrics related to Gary Moore's homeland, Ireland, and what was happening there at that time, as well as many musical passages. One of these was the album's first single, Over the Hills and Far Away.
Sales of Wild Frontier in the United Kingdom reached 60,000 copies, while in Sweden they reached 100,000 copies.
