About the album Dire Straits

Dire Straits, with their self-titled debut album released in 1978, reached No. 2 in the U.S. and No. 5 in the United Kingdom, and it soon became double platinum in these countries. The album impressed with its blues rock sound.

In the album, one encounters one of the band's greatest hits, "Sultans Of Swing," a song that stood out and was particularly loved, which is also the first single of their career, while subsequently "Water Of Love" became the second single from the album.

The design of the cover was undertaken by the Hothouse team, and the painting depicted is a work by Chuck Loyola, an anonymous artist.
