About the album Burn
What can happen when bassist Roger Glover and singer Ian Gillan have left at the peak of a group like Deep Purple? The music style can change with the new members who joined, resulting in the release of one of its most remarkable albums.
This happened with Burn in 1974. The band acquired a blues tint from the voice of the then 21-year-old David Coverdale and the bass of Glen Hughes.
The album reached No. 3 in Britain and No. 9 in the USA, where it sold approximately 500,000 copies.
