Blackstar  by David Bowie

David Bowie's twenty-sixth album entitled Blackstar is released on January 8, 2016, on the occasion of Bowie's sixty-ninth birthday. Two days later, David Bowie dies. David Bowie, along with Tony Visconti and a group of unknown jazz musicians, gather at a secret location in New York, and together they record the core of David Bowie's last album. The artist Jonathan Barnbrook was responsible for the last cover of Bowie's albums. The stars under the big "black star" seem to form the word "Bowie" in an abstract way.

The producer of the album, Tony Visconti, has described the album as Bowie's swan song. The tragic irony was that Blackstar is the only album that reached No. 1 on the Billboard. The sales of Blackstar are nearing 2,000,000 worldwide.
