About the album Slow Train Coming
Bob Dylan offers yet another surprise with his nineteenth album, Slow Train Coming. The surprise is his turn toward Christianity and how he expresses his Christian beliefs through these ten songs and their lyrics. On the album cover, the Christian symbol of the Cross appears on the worker's pickaxe as he digs for the railroad track from where the train will pass.
The sound he prefers to express all this is mainly blues rock with touches of gospel. On lead guitar, he is accompanied by Mark Knopfler, while the production belongs to Barry Beckett and Jerry Wexler.
In the U.S., the album reached 1,000,000 sales.
