About the album Desire

Bob Dylan's seventeenth album will be called Desire and will be released in 1976. It is one of his most interesting albums for the '70s and beyond.

Here, Bob Dylan does something he doesn't often do: collaborate with another person on songwriting, and that other person is Jacques Levy. In his usual manner, the album is filled with songs where stories of people unfold in the lyrics. In the song Romance In Durango, we hear Eric Clapton on guitar.

In the U.S., Desire went double platinum, selling 2,000,000 copies, and it stayed at the top of the Billboard for five weeks. It is one of Bob Dylan's most commercially successful albums, and also one of his albums that you will find in music magazine lists of the most important or best albums of all time.
