About the album Modern Times
Modern Times from 2006 will become the thirty-second studio album by Bob Dylan, produced by himself under the pseudonym Jack Frost. In this album, the singer-songwriter gives special emphasis to musical genres such as blues and rockabilly, without this meaning that one will not encounter Dylan's classic folk rock side.
Shortly after the release of Modern Times, a discussion began about whether the album's claim that all songs are compositions by Bob Dylan corresponds to reality or not, as many of the songs on the album are based on earlier recordings by other artists or on classic blues forms.
There was particular interest in Modern Times from the public and critics, who received it well. The album sold over 1,000,000 copies in the United States and over 300,000 in Great Britain, while it was Bob Dylan's first No. 1 on the Billboard charts in about thirty years.
