About the album Highway 61 Revisited

With his sixth album, Bob Dylan continues to change his style, as well as rock music in the mid-60s. The Highway 61 Revisited from 1965 is an "extremely electric" album for the standards of the time and for a folk rock artist - at least that is how he started - like Bob Dylan. In this particular record, the listener has the opportunity to watch the transition from folk rock to blues rock.

For the record, Highway 61 is an interstate road in the United States with a total length of 2,300 km that vertically crosses the country and extends from the state of Minnesota to the state of Louisiana. This road passed near places in the U.S. where stars of American music such as Elvis Presley, Muddy Waters, and Son House were born and flourished. Dylan wanted to show the deep relationship and connection of his music with traditional American music in this way.

In the U.S., Highway 61 sold 1,000,000 copies and reached No. 3 in the country. It is one of Bob Dylan's most essential and fundamental recordings.
