About the album Secret Treaties
The American band Blue Öyster Cult released one of the best albums of their career in 1974, titled Secret Treaties. The album abounds with many small hard rock anthems rich in psychedelic elements, culminating in the song Astronomy that closes the record.
Beyond the musical style of the songs, there is a peculiarity that is rarely encountered in the world of rock music. The lyrics of the songs do not belong to any of the band members. Primarily, they belong to Sandy Pearlman and Richard Meltzer, while the lyrics of Career Of Evil are by Patti Smith (!)
Over the years, Secret Treaties reached 500,000 sales in the U.S. At the time of its initial release, it had moderate reception, which is reflected in the No. 53 position it reached on Billboard.
