About the album Parallel Lines
The New York band Blondie released their third album in 1978. Parallel Lines would become the album that would give them the fame they were seeking but had not yet achieved.
The band was given a six-month period by their company for the recording of the album, but it was ready in six weeks. This occurred because, in reality, the members of the group could not stand each other and wanted to wrap up the whole affair as soon as possible. Furthermore, there was tremendous disagreement and lack of cooperation with the producer, Mike Chapman. The major clash was between the singer Debbie Harry and Chapman, because they were from New York and he was from Los Angeles. There were even disagreements about the album cover, and ultimately it was chosen by the band's manager, Peter Leeds.
After all this, the album that includes Blondie's most timeless song, One Way Or Another, ended up selling 16,000,000 copies worldwide and became their first No1 album in the UK.
