About the album Welcome To My Nightmare

In the spring of 1974, the Alice Cooper Band was now a thing of the past. Alice Cooper returned as a solo artist the following year with his personal debut, Welcome To My Nightmare, and set his career on a new foundation while building on everything he had achieved and learned in previous years.

Here, however, Alice Cooper actually creates a concept album presenting the nightmares of Steven, a "rock star" who disappears after a plane crash in the Rocky Mountains along with his lover. The production by Bob Ezrin supported and highlighted the unique character of the album, as the voices, sounds, and everything else that emerges during the songs play a very significant role in allowing someone to delve into the essence of the album and fully enjoy it.

Welcome To My Nightmare reached No. 5 in the U.S., selling over 1,000,000 copies. It is rightly regarded among Alice Cooper’s best works.
