Paranormal by Alice Cooper
About the album Paranormal
In 2017, Alice Cooper released the twentieth studio album of his solo career. The album is titled Paranormal, and its musical style is 100% within the hard rock sound that characterized Alice Cooper and his works in the 1980s, but also later. Up to this point, there's nothing "paranormal," plus the fact that it is undeniably among Alice Cooper's most accomplished works.
The "paranormal" begins when someone discovers that to record Paranormal, Alice Cooper collaborated for this album with U2's drummer, Larry Mullen Jr. (who plays drums on nine out of the ten songs), Roger Glover from Deep Purple, and Billy Gibsons from ZZ Top (!) Additionally, in three songs, all members of the Alice Cooper Band are present except for Glen Buxton (1947-1997), as well as session guitarist Steve Hunter. Naturally, the album's production involves Bob Ezrin, as well as Tommy Henriksen, and Swedish guitarist and producer Tommy Denander.
It was not at all coincidental that Paranormal managed to reach the Top-10 in many countries. It stands out at No. 6 in the United Kingdom, No. 4 in Australia, No. 4 in Germany, etc. In the USA, it reached No. 32 on the Billboard charts.
