Leonard Cohen was a Canadian singer, songwriter, poet, and author, born on September 21, 1934, in Montreal, Canada. He began his career as a poet and author in the 1950s, publishing various collections of poetry and novels. In the 1960s, he transitioned to music and became known for his deep and raspy voice, as well as his lyrical and often melancholic lyrics. Some of his most famous hits include "Hallelujah," "Suzanne," and "Dance Me to the End of Love." He was recognized for his unique influence on the folk and rock music scene and received numerous awards throughout his career. Cohen continued to create and influence music and art until his death on November 7, 2016.
