About the album Come Out And Play
Come Out And Play from 1985 is the fourth album of the heavy band from New York, Twisted Sister, a band that combined pure American heavy metal with the glam metal that would dominate in the years immediately following.
The album was based on the cover of the song Leader Of The Pack by the Shangri-Las from 1964 (!), which as a single reached No. 53 on the Billboard and No. 47 in the United Kingdom. The next single was You Want What We Got, in which Alice Cooper could be heard on backing vocals, who had a greater participation in Be Chrool To Your Scuel, which was released as a single only in Europe. German Dieter Dierks, known for his work with the Scorpions, produced the album.
The album did not achieve the commercial success of Twisted Sister's previous album, but in the U.S. it sold 500,000 copies and went gold. Significant sales – considering the circumstances – were achieved in Finland and Sweden.
