About the album Small Change

Tom Waits, with his 1977 Small Change, manages to taste what was not possible with his three previous albums, success.

During the recording period of the album, Tom Waits was immersed in alcohol and all the compositions are written under the influence of drinking, something that is easily perceived by listening to him.

The success of Small Change even led to a tour in the U.S.A. and Europe in the winter of 1976-1977.
