About the album Swordfishtrombones
In 1983, Tom Waits, in the eighth album of his career, Swordfishtrombones, changes musical direction in some way, and his compositions become more experimental.
In Swordfishtrombones, Tom Waits himself attempts and does the production of an album himself.
The reviews for the album were laudatory, but sales were low. In Great Britain, there was some relative commercial success as it sold 60,000 copies. In the U.S., it reached No. 167 on the Billboard.
