About the album Babylon
In late 1968, Dr. John – just before his thirties – records Babylon, which will be released the following year. Babylon is his second studio album and it moves between rock and rhythm 'n' blues.
Dr. John, influenced by the events happening in the U.S. at that time (the assassination of Martin Luther King, the assassination of Bobby Kennedy, the Vietnam War), delivers a "dark" album.
Most of the songs were composed by Dr. John himself, while Harold Battiste was the producer of Babylon.
