About the album Heartattack And Vine

In the middle of 1980, Tom Waits recorded his seventh album titled Heartattack And Vine. In this album, the creator clearly teeters between blues, rock, and jazz. The songs are stories of love, pain, disappointment, and madness, delivered with the creator's rough voice.

Although it was not among his most popular albums, Heartattack And Vine caught the interest of other artists who decided to engage with some of its songs. Thus, we have Bruce Springsteen covering Jersey Girl, a cover included in the Live 1975–85 of 1986, Screaming Jay Hawkins covering the title track, On The Nickel was used as a musical theme in the mini-series "The Atlanta Child Murders" and Ruby's Arms was heard in the French film "First Name: Carmen" in 1983.

For the record, Heartattack And Vine reached No. 96 on Billboard. The album was produced by Bones Howe.
