Power In The Darkness

About the album Power In The Darkness

In the late 1970s, the British rock music scene experienced an explosion that gave birth to new wave. The Tom Robinson Band and their debut titled Power In The Darkness were part of this new musical trend. Power In The Darkness starts with pub rock and reaches up to punk rock. From the cover to the last song of the album, which is the titular one, the biting criticism of the ills of English society at that time does not stop.

Tom Robinson participates in the composition of all the songs, but there is significant help from the other band members. The album's production is handled by producer Chris Thomas, one of the pioneers of new wave.

Power In The Darkness reached No.4 in the United Kingdom, while it barely made it to No.144 on the Billboard. It was a purely British record.
