Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy
About the album Jailbreak
The Irish Thin Lizzy release their sixth studio album titled Jailbreak in early 1976. Thin Lizzy begin to reach the peak of their career around this time. A series of wonderful albums will follow until the late '70s. The iconic Phil Lynott is behind every composition with the help of the rest of the band. The production of the album is handled by John Alcock. The album cover is a work by Irish artist Jim Fitzpatrick.
In Jailbreak, one can hear the songs Jailbreak and The Boys Are Back In Town, which as singles established the band in the U.S. It's their only album that went gold in the U.S. It's no coincidence that years later Bon Jovi covered the second song.
We should note that their label, Vertigo, after the rather unsuccessful previous five albums was pushing for something significant and it seemed to be Thin Lizzy's last chance. The success was so great that within the same year they went back into the studio and released another LP, Johnny The Fox. But that's another story...
