Dark Matters by The Stranglers
About the album Dark Matters
The eighteenth album by the Stranglers was released in 2021 and was titled Dark Matters. There had been a nine-year recording hiatus since their previous album. In the meantime, the keyboardist Dave Greenfield had passed away in 2020, for whom the song And If You Should See Dave... is written, which was the first single from the album. Greenfield was a founding member of the band and had been a member of the Stranglers for 45 years, and it was his last time contributing his ideas to his beloved group, as the recording of the album had begun in 2019.
In the production of Dark Matters, we have Louie Nicastro, who gives his best to ensure a flawless result that highlights the voice of Jean-Jacques Burnel, who was approaching the age of seventy at the time of recording the album.
The album reached No. 4 in the UK. The truth is that the Stranglers hadn't achieved something like this in about forty years.
