About the album The Rolling Stones
The debut of the Rolling Stones, titled after the band's name, was released on April 17, 1964. Several successful singles preceding it in 1963 had captured the public's interest, and the band had begun building a base of loyal fans. The album is filled with covers of blues and rock 'n' roll songs by American artists. Among these are songs by Bobby Troup, Willie Dixon, Chuck Berry, and Holland–Dozier–Holland.
The song titled Tell Me (You're Coming Back) was a composition by Jagger and Richards and is their first song to be included in a Rolling Stones studio LP. The American version of the album was called England's Newest Hit Makers and contained the exact same songs except that instead of Mona (I Need You Baby), it included Not Fade Away. This marks the beginning of different versions of their albums in the UK and the USA, something that would continue until 1967.
The album The Rolling Stones was produced by Eric Easton and the then-manager and image maker of the band, Andrew Loog Oldham. The album reached No.1 in the UK and No.11 in the USA. The beginning had been made (!)
