About the album The Rolling Stones No. 2
The Rolling Stones, wanting to capitalize on the success of their first album, entered the studio from June to November of 1964 with producer Andrew Loog Oldham, and by the very beginning of 1965, they had completed The Rolling Stones No. 2. Their second official album for the UK follows the musical paths of the first: covers - primarily - of American artists' hits.
However, here we have three compositions by Jagger and Richards. These are the songs What a Shame, Grown Up Wrong, and Off the Hook. The album features Jack Nitzsche playing piano on two tracks as well as Ian Stewart who also plays piano and organ.
The Rolling Stones No. 2 reached No.1 on the UK charts.
