About the album Americana
The Offspring will spend the period from July to September 1998 at Eldorado Recording Studios in California, preparing and recording their fifth studio album, which will be titled Americana.
From Americana, the single Pretty Fly (For A White Guy) will emerge, which will become one of the band's biggest hits from California. In Americana, The Offspring continue to promote the skate punk musical style that was spreading in the State of California during that time period. The production of the album was the work of Dave Jerden. The success of the album led The Offspring to perform at the "Woodstock '99" music festival.
Americana became a very big success for The Offspring, as it managed to reach the Top-5 in many countries, as well as No.2 on the Billboard.
