About the album Yellow Moon
The Neville Brothers achieved commercial success with the album Yellow Moon in 1989. Yellow Moon was recorded in New Orleans and was a record that combined the city's rhythm 'n' blues, soul music, and funk.
The album contains several covers. Notable covers include A Change Is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke, With God On Our Side by Bob Dylan, and Will The Circle Be Unbroken, which is a Christian hymn. Here one can also hear Sister Rosa, a song referencing Rosa Parks, who on December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, refused to follow the law that required colored people to sit in the back of the bus and give up their seats to white people. Above all the songs on the album, the title track stood out, becoming the band's biggest commercial success from New Orleans.
The album Yellow Moon reached No. 66 on the Billboard.
