About the album Beck-Ola

With the experience of previous bands he had participated in, Jeff Beck formed The Jeff Beck Group in 1967. Beck-Ola was recorded from April 3 to April 19, 1969, and released in June of the same year. The album was produced by Mickie Most.

At the time of the album's release, no one could predict the future of the group's members. The band's singer was someone named Rod Stewart, and on bass was a young man named Ronnie Wood. Beck-Ola is an album containing nine songs that range from Blues Rock to Hard Rock, which at the time was in its very early stages. The album's title was a pun derived from the name of the American company Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corporation, which was making jukeboxes at that time.

Beck-Ola is a legendary album for rock music, an album that in its time paved the way towards a more hard rock sound. Sales of the album in the United States have now exceeded 500,000 copies.
