American Woman by The Guess Who
About the album American Woman
The Canadian band Guess Who was formed in 1965 and by 1970 they reached their sixth studio album titled American Woman, which combines hard rock with psychedelic rock. The title track of the album would become the band's biggest hit. This album is the last where guitarist Randy Bachman participates—at least for the 1970s.
The album was recorded between August and November of 1969. Its producer was Jack Richardson.
American Woman became the only Guess Who album to enter the Billboard Top-10, reaching No. 9. In Canada, of course, it reached No. 1. Its sales reached 500,000 in the USA and 100,000 in Canada.
