Three Imaginary Boys by The Cure
About the album Three Imaginary Boys
In 1979 another new band from Britain released their debut and joined the post-punk and new wave scene of the country. The album is titled Three Imaginary Boys and the band is The Cure with frontman singer and guitarist Robert Smith.
The album was produced by Chris Parry, who also played the role of the band's manager until 1988. Robert Smith was not satisfied with the production of the first album and mainly felt that the songs were not yet complete.
Despite Smith's dissatisfaction, Three Imaginary Boys became a success, immediately reaching No. 44 in Britain, while sales were substantial enough to make it silver. Today it is one of the most classic albums that one can listen to in order to get a good idea of the British music scene in the late '70s and the beginnings of the next decade.
