About the album Yellow Submarine
Yellow Submarine was the tenth album in the Beatles' career and is certainly their weakest as a whole. Yellow Submarine was a pure obligation of the band as they had to write music and songs for an animated film with the same title.
Yellow Submarine was released in 1969, two months after the White Album. The first side consists of six songs with Yellow Submarine and All You Need Is Love having been released as singles shortly before, while the other four were new songs that were officially recorded for the first time. The second side is purely instrumental and is written exclusively for the needs of the film. Apart from the composition Yellow Submarine In Pepperland by Lennon/McCartney, all the other compositions are by the Beatles' producer, George Martin.
Even this very unorthodox album by the Beatles achieved sales. For example, in France, it sold 500,000 copies and has become diamond (!)
