About the album Dirty
The seventh and double album by Sonic Youth will coincide with the explosion of grunge, and many people will associate them with the new sound despite the fact that Sonic Youth had been playing this way many years before.
Its producer was Butch Vig, who worked with the group to achieve that rough sound. The lyrics of the songs are often dark and speak of murders, sexual harassment, vanity, etc.
Dirty reached No. 83 on the Billboard charts, while the big surprise was its performance in Britain, where it managed to reach No. 6.
