About the album Superstition

Superstition is the tenth album by the English rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees, released on June 10, 1991. The album received positive reviews for its experimentation and the strong vocals of Siouxsie Sioux. The recording of the album took place between December 1990 and April 1991.

Producer Stephen Hague, known for his work with the Pet Shop Boys and New Order, took on production, giving the album a glossier and more pop-oriented sound. The album incorporated elements from Indian music, with the participation of Talvin Singh on tablas on the tracks Kiss Them For Me and Silver Waterfalls. Kiss Them For Me was the album's lead single, becoming the band's first entry into the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. Other singles released were Shadowtime and Fear (of the Unknown), the latter only in the US.

While considered by some as a "mature" and "elegant" turn for the band, other fans and critics found Superstition too commercial compared to their post-punk past. The album reached No25 on the UK charts and No65 on the Billboard.
