Siouxsie & the Banshees were a British post-punk band formed in 1976 in London. The central figure was the vocalist Siouxsie Sioux, with founding member bassist Steven Severin. The band became known for its innovative sound, composed of elements of punk, gothic rock, and psychedelia. They released successful albums such as "Juju" and "A Kiss in the Dreamhouse." They are recognized for their influence on the music scene and are considered pioneers of gothic rock and alternative music. They ceased their recording activity in 1996.
