Arise  by Sepultura

The Brazilians Sepultura attempt and succeed in expanding their sound towards other metal music genres. In Arise, despite the fact that it is a thrash metal album, there are several indications that Sepultura do not hesitate to seek new paths for their compositions.

These new paths are none other than those of death metal and slightly of industrial metal. Lyrically, Arise was a call to their fellow countrymen to rise up and demand a better future for themselves. Let us not forget that Brazil had emerged from a 21-year dictatorship in 1985 and in 1991 the societal balance had not yet been restored.

Arise was the first Sepultura album to sell enough in the U.S. to enter the Billboard Top-200 and reach No.119. In the United Kingdom, it sold 60,000 copies, while many other countries warmly welcomed Sepultura's fourth album.
