Sepultura is a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in 1984 in Belo Horizonte. Known for their dynamic and groundbreaking sound, they combined elements of thrash metal, death metal, and hardcore punk, with traditional Brazilian influences. From their album "Arise" (1991), they gained international recognition, while "Chaos A.D." (1993) and "Roots" (1996) revitalized the metal genre with elements of groove and tribal music. They have undergone many member changes, most notably the departure of founder Max Cavalera in 1996. Despite the changes, Sepultura remains one of the most influential bands of their genre.
