About the album Getting To The Point

Getting To The Point is the second album by the British blues band Savoy Brown. The album was recorded at Decca studios in March 1968 and released in Britain in July of the same year, while in September it was released in Canada and the United States of America.

Unlike the band's first album, which consisted exclusively of covers of blues songs by other artists, Getting To The Point features the first compositions by Savoy Brown. A significant role in this was played by the arrival of Chris Youlden to the band as a singer, replacing Brice Portius. Thus, guitarist and founding member of the group Kim Simmonds collaborated with Youlden to compose Savoy Brown's first songs. Of course, there are also covers here. The album closes with You Need Love by Willie Dixon. Led Zeppelin was inspired by Savoy Brown's rendition to later write their own Whole Lotta Love.

In 1990, when the album was released in CD format, three additional songs were added: Walking By Myself, Taste And Try, Before You Buy, and Someday People.
